The man behind the griddle
Daddio on the Patio started in 2020 as a backyard passion project — a dad in NY/PA who loved to cook outdoors and wanted to share that with the world. What started as weekend grilling sessions quickly turned into a full-on outdoor cooking obsession.
The Blackstone griddle became the centerpiece of it all. There's something about a flat-top that just unlocks a different level of cooking — the ability to do hibachi, smash burgers, breakfast spreads, and everything in between, all in the backyard with the family around.
But it's not just the Blackstone. The Z Grills pellet smoker gets fired up for low-and-slow sessions — brisket, ribs, pulled pork, double-smoked hams. And when the charcoal grill comes out, it's for the big cuts: tomahawk steaks, beef ribs, spatchcock chicken.
"The patio is where it all comes together. Food, fire, and the people you love. That's what this is all about."
The content spans Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube — short-form videos that show the real process, the real results, and the real joy of cooking outdoors. No pretension. No fancy studio. Just a guy on his patio making food that makes people hungry.
This blog is an extension of that — a place to go deeper on the recipes, share the techniques, and build a community of backyard cooks who love what they do.
The flat-top workhorse. Smash burgers, hibachi, breakfast — it does everything.
